Thanks for the report! Because company-go is just carried over from https://github.com/nsf/gocode, and gocode is just being maintained until gopls is ready (and I am not very familiar with elisp), I will not be able to dedicate time to fixing this myself. If you or anyone else wants to submit a PR, I will be happy to merge it.

Sure! In that case maybe it's best to wait until gopls is ready.
