oh and maybe module request form and dashboard, then the community can vote up priority of modules important to them?

HI @amborem,

Though about it we would prefer to stick with the npm(maybe like yeoman does with the 'generator-' prefix?), but first we need to stabilize the project core and make it more structured for future updates.

I've been looking for a tool to help the community vote on the future of the project. Couldn't find one yet. any suggestions?

Hi @Amos,

That's a cool idea. Two thoughts came to mind:

  1. Uservoice.com
If you're looking for a community feature voting tool, check out
    uservoice.com I use a great mockup tool called moqups.com. The have a
voting system integrated in their feedback and support section:
    http://community.moqups.com/

There is a free version and a $20/mo version:
https://www.uservoice.com/plans/?ref=top_pricing

In some ways this would be overkill (e.g. 'Contact Support'), but it's a
great experience at moqups.

  1. Use GitHub Wiki
The simplest thing that could possibly work is a GitHub Wiki page where
we'd use our GitHub ID's to vote.

MEAN.JS Proposed Features

Howto use:

  1. Vote by adding your GitHub id to the Votes section.
  2. Discuss by clicking on the discussion page
  3. Propose by clicking edit, then copy/pasting a new section.
Keep What to a few lines so it's easy to browse
Change Discussion link to a new wiki page and add details there.

Create a voting system

What: I propose we make a voting system for the MEAN.JS project.
[[Discussion|discussion/feature1]]
Votes: michaeljcole, someoneelse, etc.

Another feature

What: I propose we do something great!
[[Discussion|discussion/feature2]]
Votes: michaeljcole, someoneelse, etc.

Cheers,

Mike

@amoshaviv public trello board is what I would have used

  • free
  • with discussions/notifications
  • simply copy to user stories/development board
