Regarding problem, I did support CORS long back itself, I will check why did it replied like this, but website support CORS long back.

Well I'm making a Chrome extension with a custom New Tab Page. You can see it here. (the extension is not published to the Chrome Web Store yet, but the demo page is at the link just mentioned).
In the search bar, you can now type: "define:word" and it will show a definition. The rest of the page is in Dutch, not English, though.

@StanNL I have to click search and then it leads me to oxford page. It isn't showing meaning there itself.

@StanNL I have changed the API a little kindly see the latest post. You might have to make a little one line change.

@StanNL Use https://mydictionaryapi.appspot.com, after a mean while. My IBM Cloud subscription has run out, maybe that is why it stopped.
