Animation in IE8 and IE9 were intentionally left out. These older browsers are missing support for CSS transitions, which means animation would have to rely on frame-based animation like jQuery's. However, adding animation adds a tremendous performance load to browser rendering. Instead of slowing down browsers with animation, I feel it's a better solution to leave it out completely, keeping interactions snappy and responsive. I rather have 'bland and fast' over 'flashy and buggy'.

Yes, jQuery animation could be added as a fallback, if available. If others would like to see animation in IE8 and IE9, please +1 this issue.

Thank you for a quick response!

I totally agree with the base thoughts but a plugin or addon that adds frame-based animations would be appreciated.

Hope other people agree with me, and thanks again for a great "app".

I wouldn't mind a jQuery animation fallback for IE8/9 since I still deal with quite a lot of people on these browsers and this is such a great library. So it's definitely a +1 from me.
