Did you try the last update? (v.1.16)
I made a lot of changes and fixesfor WebDirectoryChooser component there.
I have added proper tree editing, filtering and sorting. I have also fixed all tree update bugs there.
Here is the screen of latest WebDirectoryChooser component:
You can edit any folder by pressing F2 or clicking three times on it.
You can also change that behavior by reassigning/modifying tree cell editor.

But if you still have some problems with folder name editing in this dialog with v.1.16 - i guess its some new bug.

I'm sorry, I was convinced I answered this question yesterday but apparently forgot to submit it. Indeed I've confirmed now with version 1.16 and it's definitely working. I thought that I had confirmed the issue with the version 1.16 but I guess I was wrong. It's working correctly. Thanks :)
