Would it be possible to hijack this tool to insert devonthink tags into zotero tags, and vice versa?

(My working assumption is that it might be possible to come from zotero to devonthink by writing in the PDF, but not vice-versa ... but even as I type this, i realise it might be easier via a DTP script that talks to the zotero webAPI.)

It should be possible to do, and it should be possible to do it using either method: either edit Zotero tags via the API, or write tags to the PDF. I think as far as using Zowie, the code base could help with finding the APIs for both Zotero and modifying PDFs, but overall, you'd have to rewrite most of the internal logic of Zowie, given the fact that it's going in the opposite direction and focusing on different data.
