Configure Simultaneous Different Workloads on Diskspd & VMFleet

I don't have a file handy just now, but here's a trick I've used successfully in the past. Run DiskSpd using the non-xml command line parameters, and set the output to xml (-R). Then, grab the "profile" section of the output and use that as the xml input file. Also, I believe there's no space between -X and the name of the profile's file.

This is sounding more like a VM Fleet question than DISKSPD. If you’re having problems with -X itself, Laura’s suggestion is spot on. Don’t try to start from a blank file and write XML, use the <Profile> section of something close as a starting point, and use DISKSPD 2.20 – it has XML schema validation hooked up, which will provide feedback on specification problems. If you’re trying to have your VMs pick through a set of different workload specifications defined with -X, you just have to modify the run.ps1 (or equivalent) to do exactly that distribution of different load specifications. The L: drive is mapped so you can access the c:\clusterstorage\collect CSV from the VMs – from there, you can do nearly anything. The c:\vmspec.txt file in the VM contains the VM name, from which you can decide what to run where.
