Explorer Add-In to copy file(s) and not the shortcut

I don't see this as being a very common scenario.

I see two possible implementations:

• A regular entry in the context menu. The shell extension would have to scan the selected items and if any of them is a shortcut, add a "Copy targets" menu item.
• Implement it as a right-click drag&drop handler. Would have to scan the items as above.

It may not be common but a search shows me others have the same issue and there is no easy method to do this. I organize all my images in various folders relative to the event where the pictures were taken. Years go by and I have no clue where an image may be. I also put a shortcut for each image in one folder called "Index". That way I can look at all the photos and find the series I am looking for. That might mean finding every photo where I took pictures of flowers. Your description appears to be what I had in mind. An option to copy the actual file when a LNK is being processed. By the way, the opposite direction is easy by selecting the file(s) and choosing "Send To: Desktop" to create the shortcut of those file(s). Thanks, Bruce Neild
