I can confirm the issue, but it is not a consistent issue. Some of my students had this problem, others did not. We did not find any possible causes yet.

I believe the problem is that the action to set up the storage area for notebooks works asynchronously, so sometimes the script tries to upload the notebook before permissions have been set, and the upload fails. This is an intermittent issue, but obviously frustrating when it happens.

@TheJamesHerring , my suggestion would be to either:

1. Remove the code in the script that uploads the notebook (lines 173-181)
2. Add an instruction in the lab steps to manually download the notebook to the client computer and then upload it to Synapse.

or leave the script as it is, but add a note in the instructions at the point where the student opens the notebook to say that if it's not there. they should download it from GitHub and upload it to Synapse.
