If you are running windows, then it is most likely that the association of java jar files to the javaw executable is broken in windows explorer. You can try this tool: http://johann.loefflmann.net/en/software/jarfix/index.html to fix it. Re-installing java might also fix it.

I just downloaded and installed Java 8 Update 5 (64-bit), and it's working again!

That's good to hear Mike. Also make sure that you back up your data every so often, just in case you are left stranded by a hardware failure or some software issue like the one you had. A Borg XML export backs up everything in the Borg database. Borg can also export data in ical format (calendar data only). The ical data can be imported into all of the major calendar programs (outlook, google calendar, icalendar, mozilla lightning....).

Hi Mike,

Besides giving me several error-messages (see below) when opening, it appears my Borg calendar information has 'disappeared'!

I deinstalled, then reinstalled JAVA - but no go.

Here are the messages I'm getting:

java.sql.SQLException: Column already exists: PRIORITY in statement [alter table appointments add column priority integer default '5' NOT NULL]

java.sql.SQLException: Column already exists: CREATE_TIME in statement [alter table appointments add column create_time datetime default '1980-01-01 00:00:00' NOT NULL]

java.sql.SQLException: Column already exists: LASTMOD in statement [alter table appointments add column lastmod datetime default '1980-01-01 00:00:00' NOT NULL]

java.sql.SQLException: Column already exists: UID in statement [alter table appointments add column uid longvarchar]

java.sql.SQLException: out of memory

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated, Mike.

I can't get Borg off my computer.

I can't install a new copy.

What errors do you see when trying to uninstall or re-install?

To uninstall Borg, just run the uninstaller from the start menu. If you run windows 8 and don't have a start menu, then it is in C:\Program Files (x86)\BORGCalendar\Uninstaller

Is the uninstaller having a problem?

To manually uninstall, just delete C:\Program Files (x86)\BORGCalendar and any start menu folder and/or desktop icon.
