Hi! It looks like you are actually using v3 of yq
, which had the compare function, but that version is no longer supported.
In v4, the recommended approach is to use yq
to sort the keys and pretty print both files, and use your built in shell diff command to compare the difference, see: https://mikefarah.gitbook.io/yq/usage/tips-and-tricks#comparing-yaml-files
Admittedly this is not as convenient as the old 'compare' command, but it does give you a lot more power on how you would like to compare the documents :)
