Can you send/attach a screenshot or diagram of what you're trying to achieve? Rows and columns are kind of just to create a 'stack' of guioptions in the right order. Formatting is a bit of a challenge :)
I'm actually thinking of creating a similar concept called 'Styles' which is like formatting but without the inheritance i.e. create a style then tag it to elements where you want it. Might make all of this a lot easier. If your use case makes sense for this I'll move that up the priority list.

What I wanted to achieve is kind of vertical alignment also for objects in a row, e.g., to have some sections more "detached" from the previous, for a better readability.
