This error also happens if you have pg as a dependency in package.json and it doesn't match what @mikro-orm/postgresql wants. Make sure that the versions match!

Closing, this has to be something in your setup, maybe deps, not reproducible. Note that the EM exported from knex package is exactly the same as from SQL driver packages, it is a reexport, therefore what you claim does not make sense. My guess is a dependency resolution problem, e.g. you don't have ORM packages aligned (they all need to be on the very same version as core package). Seeing you were playing with v5, I am quite sure it will be that.

Feel free to put together a repro, will be happy to look into that, but ensure you have the ORM package versions aligned, and try wiping lock file and node_modules first, as that usually helps with issues like this. You need to have a single installation of each package, otherwise the DI in nest can't work (as it uses references in latest version, not string tokens)
