Thanks for playing around with the markdown-css stylesheet. Unfortunately, the project is setup to only use CSS and no additional resources (such as JavaScript), so with something like this, it's up to what the browser will support. The motivation for building this was to explore fun hacks around CSS and as a bit of challenge to myself, see if I could make proper HTML look like markdown.

Are you trying to build something that let's you convert HTML into markdown and then copy-paste the result into a text file? I'd suggest you look for a JavaScript library that can do the conversion for you and give you more control over what you want to achieve.
