It needs more investigation with something like WireShark before I can be sure there is no leaking of data.
Currently the help is sited at http://multibit.org so that is a leak. DNS lookup is used to find the peers so that might leak too.

I also vote for SOCKS support. It is the a basic function for the software. I can imagine all kinds of anonymous transactions, but your IP is stamped in the transactions leading to immediate and certain identification of each movement. This alone makes the client a big hazard to use.
