Here is what happens with a fresh Mumble, no external devices connected at all, Default Device set system-wide to built-in speaker/mike, on the same machine, during the initial setup-dialog, after pressing “Next” on the Audio Tuning Wizard — the next window in the dialog pops up briefly (an instant), then:
