Are there additional benefits to being able to receive the response by email?

If not, I would opt for the latter solution, if only because it would make for a more obvious UI.

I wrote a quick hack that screenscrapes the public request page: http://urchin.earth.li/darcs/ganesh/wdtk-download
Not really suitable for general consumption and the source language (Haskell) would make direct integration with WDTK fiddly (and pointless; if WDTK provides this it should do so by direct access to the raw data.)

I'm tentatively putting this in for Release 0.6, since Helen asked for this.

So what exactly would be most useful here? A zip file containing all the attachments, or all the attachments and all the messages? If we are also including all the correspondence, what format should they be in? One text file with the complete thread? Several HTML files?

I'd suggest a zip file containing:

  1. PDF of the email correspondence based on a print stylesheet (https://github.com/sebbacon/alaveteli/issues/16)
  2. HTML copy of the print-css email correspondence for users who hate PDF :-)
  3. Attachments

I'll check with Helen when she's back (Thursday I think), see what she thinks.

Well hopefully she'll agree with @skenaja, as I've almost finished his suggested implementation :) (I did plain text rather than HTML). Will upload to test server for playing with later, when I've worked out how to test it.
