hey btw,

I know it's a 4 months old issue but I got it working by editing the Makefile. Had to include two new parameters in the gcc call -fPIC and -DMYSQL_DYNAMIC_PLUGIN so it looked like this:

gcc -DMYSQL_DYNAMIC_PLUGIN -fPIC -Wall -I/usr/include/mysql -I. -shared lib_mysqludf_sys.c -o $(LIBDIR)/lib_mysqludf_sys.so

Just in case somebody else has this problem too.

In addition to mahrton solution I had to update LIBDIR in Makefile too, like this:
LIBDIR=/usr/lib/mysql/plugin

Same thing under Debian Wheezy 64. Mahrton fix works.
