For the Module/Module Type, I would love to know why we cannot use Inventory things here.

Modules are not the same as InventoryItems - a Module is installed into a ModuleBay within a Device and can contain components (interfaces, other port types) of its own, while an InventoryItem belongs directly to a Device or parent InventoryItem and cannot contain other types of components.

I Think adding support for ModuleBay is good idea.
They are looking on it nautobot/nautobot/issues/2101
