I just tested the code using the AWS us-east-1 region and had no issues. You can get the public IP address or public DNS hostname by running terraform state show aws_instance.nginx1 and looking for the properties public_ip and public_dns.

Since this is using a t2.micro size EC2 instance, it may take a few moments for nginx to be installed and configured. Also, the web page is only available over HTTP using port 80. Some browsers may attempt to use HTTPS over port 443, unless you are explicit about it.

Strange... I just tried it again and today it worked fine. No problems.

Okay that was the problem.
I clicked the link directly from the AWS console and that defaults to use https.
