Okay so I seem to have figured out why this happens. I have a custom keyboard layout which uses the numpad -, + and this seems to have different behaviour in i3 vs ubuntu desktop. Not sure which is correct or why they are different but if i map <kMinus>
to the <Plug>NetrwBrowseUpDir
or change the keyboard layout to use the normal -, + instead of the numpad once it works.
So I guess it comes down to what the expected behaviour is for netrw. Should normal "-" and <kMinus>
be mapped to "go up dir" or only "-"?
Also as we may need documetation for the <kPlus>
behaviour (taking you one line down and to the first column) which is not written down in the netrw netrw-quickmap
but is behaving the same as vim.
