In prior 1.1 backup/snapshot directories used to be keyspace based hence they were being stored under keyspace's directory. In 1.1 moving forward they are stored in ColumnFamily directories since you can backup/snapshot per column family. So, if you are using master branch, you'll have a problem with Cassandra 1.0. I see there is a 1.0 branch. Maybe that should be used for Cassandra 1.0.x. Either way I'll wait for Vijay's comment too as I am not sure how these branches are maintained as I am not the project owner.

Hi Arya,
You are correct, this change is incompatible with version of cassandra lower than 1.1. Hence, please use the 1.0 branch of Priam for cassandra 1.0. There were many things that changed (read: broke) with 1.1, so we decided to branch off the 1.0 compatible code base. Let us know if the 1.0 branch has issues.
Thanks

Understood, I'll put future work into 1.0. However since it is known to be broken, if Priam >= 1.1 is launched alongside Cassandra <1.1, I think it should raise a lot of alarms and refuse to work. Having it silently fail, which is what it does now, is dangerous for the user (me) and for the project since it doesn't appear to be useable.
In the mean time, I'll backtrack and try to get 1.0 working in my other request.
