https://github.com/jimklimov/git-scripts/blob/master/git-reauthor was updated with support for SIGNOFF=true envvar value to rewrite existing local commits with an added Signed-off-by tag.

A minor hiccup regards commits made via GitHub Web-UI Editor: you have to actually type the sign-off text Signed-off-by: User Name <[email protected]> as a line in the end of extended commit message; there is no checkbox equivalent to git commit -s as of yet :(

MAINTAINER NOTE: In PRs (especially older ones still in the queue), a failed DCO check can be clicked in GitHub UI by a project member with sufficient privilege, and there's a button to "Set DCO to pass" so it does not "pollute" the build overview for that PR (marking the PR as failed so one has to read into details and see if it is a code problem or not).
