@njordr I know this is confusing, but would you mind moving this issue to the gonitro/sidecar fork? We don't maintain this repo and we might not see if someone posts here.

Once you move the issue there, I think @relistan might be able to offer more insight into this. My guess is that you need to fiddle with HAPROXY_BIND_IP, because, unfortunately, the variable name has not been refactored when we added the Envoy integration, but it's being used by Envoy as well. See here and here.

Also, it would be great if you could better explain what you mean by "template variable host retrieve a different IP".
