The latest release published to PyPI is a bit old for bees. We'll need to publish a new release soon. However, the version that is published, 0.1.4, should in fact work. I just installed it fresh from pip on 10.8.3 and I cannot reproduce your error. You seem to have Python installed through homebrew. I'm just guessing here but I suspect you may have some issues between the versions of Python that pip and easy_install are using respectively.

Do you have any idea when you will public a new version? I cloned the repo and I am using the Developer installation instructions now. Got me past the error and I'm giving it a try.
