As a workaround I am using this custom CSS:
.fc-day-today { box-shadow: 0px 0px 0px 4px var(--color-primary-hover) inset;} .fc-day-past .fc-daygrid-day-top {filter: opacity(0.6);} .fc-day-past .fc-event-past {filter: opacity(0.6);}
from calendar.
