and see if there's any difference? Also ask if the keyboard lag still happens when disconnected from the server (Menu -> Disconnect, then try to type in the chat entry of a private chat).

I'll have to verify this next week, but I don't see how our code could be responsible for these issues. Most likely something in GTK causing it.

User is currently offline, but offline PM sent.

I suspect that the problem might be occurring due to frequent browse shares and get folder contents requests, since the user is popular and has a very large amount of files.

Perhaps the issue might be worsened peers with slow connections, that might cause something like block delays during the transmission of the directory list during browse share requests that are made by slow or busy peers with saturated connections, or when negotiating concurrent browse share requests for instance (considering there is no indication as to how long it takes to complete the listing transmission nor when it is completed), that untested scenario could maybe also trigger some issue?

I will relay the user's response once received.

I don't recall any changes since 3.2.9 that would negatively affect performance to such a degree though, and anything network-related would happen in the networking thread, which doesn't affect the GUI.

If this is the same user I've talked to in the past, they used to have similar issues with lag, even when disconnected from the server. We ruled out search request processing, even with 1000 results returned. I don't remember what caused these issues to go away though.

I could create a GTK 3 build of master, so we can know for sure if a change in GTK 4 has caused this.

It is important to highlight that the user has reported keyboard lagging is also occurring in other applications outside of Nicotine+, and that it is only happening while Nicotine+ is running (either in the background or foreground). That would indicate that something in the OS is being tripped up by any thread.

The user hasn't come back online as yet.

Any update? There's nothing I can do if I don't get a response. Maybe point them towards the db-format-new branch as well to see if anything has changed there.
