Is the type you are trying to serialize uses Object, Serializable or maybe generics or any global interfaces ?

It seems to only try serialize classes that extends Ordering or Comparable. Do you have one of these types in your DataColumn classes ?

All of my DTO objects implement Comparable. But not sure why its trying to serialize that FilterSortDataProvider though.

The first serializer in error is java\util\ComparatorBeanJsonSerializerImpl.java.
It means gwt-jackson found a property that uses a java.util.Comparator.

And you also have a property somewhere that uses FilterSortDataProvider<T>.DataColumn<>.

You have to check the object you want to serialize and find these properties. gwt-jackson parses all the properties/method. I still need to handle gracefully these errors : if the type is not supported, I ignore the property and don't throw an error.
But currently, your only options are tracking the properties and add @JsonIgnore to them or define a custom serializer.

Great its compiling now! Forgot about a bunch of legacy junk in my DTO's... I'm still new to json serialization stuff, coming from GWT RPC haha
