Hi there, I'm Kevin! I'm an iOS developer with 2+ years of experience working with legacy, enterprise, and startup apps!

My formal education was in Biotechnology as I grew up with the typical goal of eventually becoming a doctor. However, I was no stranger to programming and the computer science industry due to my dad's influence since he has a PhD in computer science and serves as an instructor at my state university. Thus, I spent some time early on doing small games with C++ and other programming tasks in Python. Over time, I realized with programming, you can do pretty much anything you wanted just with a computer and an internet connection. I chose to pursue the iOS route at the recommendation of a friend and preference for both iPhones and something front-end for immediate feedback. Which leads us here!

I've recently been working on diving deeper into general programming topics (IoC dependency injection, proper caching, general architecture), iOS specific topics (MapKit/CoreLocation, HealthKit, performance improvement techniques via emerge/instruments), and platform agnostic connections (analytics and backends as services like Firebase, MixPanel, Amplitude, etc).

Simple MVC app built in Swift/UIKit that sends you notifications/reminders for routine tasks you input (i.e. rotate tires on car, change oil, change water filter, etc. Additionally, if you typically use certain items up on a regular basis, e.g. use up all toilet paper every month, it can remind you for that too.)

spacedrepetition

Flashcard app that utilizes the concept of spaced repetition to consolidate memorization and learning. This app specifically uses the Leitner system (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leitner_system) to manage whether or not the user needs to review cards.

A collection of playgrounds that provide an example/reference for how to implement a variety of requirements (e.g. finding # of days in between two calendar days, setting up a UIView programmatically, moving objects in an NSMutableOrderedSet, etc)
