Allow _highlight as array or directly a key

    if(!(keys instanceof Array))
        keys = [keys];

I see this is the code... Has it been added by someone ?
Please check if it works or not.

I think the problem is in setHighlight in api.js

function setHighlight( element, value ) {

    if( ! ( element._highlight instanceof Array ) ) {
        return; 
    }
    this.repositoryHighlights.set( element._highlight, value );
}

If it is not an array it just returns. This does not seem correct
