The consumer name is purely informational, you can use anything there, it's not sent along with your requests.

When I have time, I will add an example of authentication with a UIWebView.

Using a web view is not a good practice, since malicious developers may intercept user's credentials.

The good practice would be opening Safari to login on Twitter and authorise the application. However, the iOS application needs to implement some URL scheme to receive the tokens. Also, the Twitter application must have its callback URL properly configured on Twitter's website.

So, I think it is much easier to use the Twitter account entered by the user in iOS settings than using a web view. Don't you?

Sorry for returning to an old thread, I do not like to open a whole issue of it:
When logging in using safari, i don't have a redirection to the application. How can I achieve this ?
