I am a current KMD Southern Hemisphere Notary Node operator and community contributor.
I have been interested and invested in cryptocurrency for about two and a half years now. After seeing the technological advancements that Komodo was making, and seeing how the community came together to create, test and evaluate projects, I knew I wanted to be a part of this community. My first Komodo experience came through mining and trading. I purchased, built and ran multiple miners whilst I researched and learnt more about the code behind blockchain technology. I was introduced to the world of blockchain technology testing through the Proof Of Stake64 Test in 2018. I have to thank @Alright for walking me through how to install and run a full Komodo node for the first time, whilst also providing me an excellent opportunity to learn all things blockchain related. Since the POSTEST64 test event, I have provided time and effort towards a few different test events and projects.
Most of my effort has gone towards Pirate, as well as the CHIPS project. I provided feedback and mining nodes on the initial startup of Pirate, I participated in the RKT z address sapling upgrade test net, which directly led to identifying critical bugs that were fixed prior to mainnet introduction. I have previously run a Komodo, Pirate and assetchain mining pool, but had to close this due to lack of usage. I have given my time and effort towards the CHIPS project throughout the last year. In my 2019 NN proposal, I stated that I would donate 15% of my NN rewards towards the development of the CHIPS GUI. As you can see on my KMD-NN repo, I have fulfilled this promise and continue to do so. I have also participated in the project, assisting in any way I can. Throughout the year, I have appeared on a Crypto Core Media Podcast and discussed the CHIPS project in detail. I have reorganised the CHIPS discord, telegram, and correlated all known CHIPS githubs in the single organisation. I have also helped write copy for the website that is in production, assisted with testing and evaluation in the early stages of GUI production, and continue to give my time to help develop the project.
In summary, I have been an active member in the KMD community over the last few years, assisting in multiple projects around the ecosystem. I will continue to donate my KMD NN rewards, my time and my effort to KMD community projects.
As was my goal for the last year as a KMD NN, my goal as a Komodo Network Notary Node is to provide a reliable, effective and efficient notarising node. The way I will achieve this is by maximising the uptime and productivity of my node through continual monitoring and optimisation. I will be available every day on Discord and via email in case of any required changes, or coin additions.
I believe I have successfully carried out my goal over the last year as a NN. Although I am currently 12th in the SH region for 'score', I believe I have been one of the first to commit to major changes in my region and have been an active contributer throughout the community.
You can find donation verification over at my KMD-NN repo. I put all of my important NN information there for transperancy purposes. https://github.com/NutellaLicka/KMD-NN/blob/master/nutellalicka.md
Over the past period as a Notary Node, I have been donating a portion of my rewards to the CHIPS project. Last election, I chose to donate to the CHIPS project financially as I believe it has quite large potential.
This year, I will continue to donate 15% of my NN rewards to projects I believe have great potential. These funds can be used as the project sees fit, but will be intended to help pay for dev costs/marketing initiatives /project improvement, etc. Initially this will continue to fund CHIPS development. Following that, other KMD ecosystem projects will be able to apply to have KMD out of the fund. If anyone has requests or suggestions for fund allocations, shoot me a message, I would love to hear your thoughts.
I will be providing the Southern Hemisphere with nodes (main & 3rd party) located in a data centre in Brisbane or Melbourne (pending availability). As I stood for in the last election, I believe this aids in the decentralisation and reduces the reliability on the main stream server hosting providers, by providing another critical SH node that isn't located in the same data centre as others. This decision has hurt my nodes connectivity to other Notary Nodes, and in turn hurt my Notary Node score. I still standby the need for decentralised distribution of the NN servers.
