Bind the data attribute in the component via :data-abc="myValue" and set myValue based on if localstorage is set or not (e.g. use https://vueuse.org/core/useStorage/ to handle it).

To note: A workaround is not using vanilla JS but vue's reactivity system + a store - then things will be properly set/unset.
