About Me

Most people wouldn't imagine a high school Algebra teacher reading stories to teenagers, but that's what I did for the last 7 and a half years. Creating elaborate stories from numbers earned me the nickname of Ms. Frizzle amongst my students (do know, I don't have red hair or drive a bus). Once I learned that I could help others interpret and draw conclusions from data, I knew my tenacity, gregariousness and principled-mindset would aid my success in the data science world.

In my off time, I enjoy continuing to train towards 12K Bay to Breakers, painting intricate nail designs, reading graphic novels or sci-fi, spending time with my family, or taking my pack of doggos 🐶 🐕 🐶. out for adventures!

I looked into the possible drivers of adoptability using Austin Animal Center's data accumulated from the past seven years. With a detailed eye, I prepped and explored my data in Jupyter Lab using Pandas, Seaborn and Mathplotlib. I then used Scikit-learn to create a logistic regression model used to predict the adoptability of a pet that attained an accuracy of 82%.

this repo will hold my final regression project: Acquire, clean, prep, SQL dataset from Codeup DB, explore features and their effects on the target, home value (based on the county tax assessment), in order to create a regression model used to predict the home’s value. Deliverables are a well-documented Jupyter Notebook, detailed README.md file, individual modules that hold functions used to acquire, prep, and explore the data, a 5-minute presentation, and a link to the Trello board used to keep organized.
