@Rinse12 You can achieve this using Flags.custom:

  static flags = {
    seed: Flags.custom<boolean | string[]>({
      summary: 'Could be boolean or array of strings.',
      parse: async input => input, // this should be a function that takes the input and casts it to a boolean or string[]
    })(),
  }
}

@mdonnalley doesn't seem to work on @oclif/[email protected]. The custom flag is initialized as follows:

    seed: Flags.custom<boolean | string[]>({  
      parse: async (input: any) => (Array.isArray(input) ? <string[]>input : true),  
      default: false})()  
}

I get this error with plebbit daemon --seed,

plebbit:daemon init version: @oclif/[email protected] argv: [ '--seed' ]
Error: Flag --seed expects a value
