The later code sample makes no sense with our API. What do you expect this true to be for ?

The function signature is

bool BeginChild(const char* str_id, const ImVec2& size = ImVec2(0, 0), ImGuiChildFlags child_flags = 0, ImGuiWindowFlags window_flags = 0);

So in the second case :

  • you are passing true to ImGuiChildFlags (which is actually supported due to legacy support, and means ImGuiChildFlags_Border), which means you are NOT passing any resize flag.
  • you are passing ImGuiChildFlags_Border | ImGuiChildFlags_ResizeX | ImGuiChildFlags_ResizeY as ImGuiWindowFlags, which is incorrect and meaningless (with more statically checked types it would not compile)
