The layer and column sorting thing is absolutely in my mind. I can work on it later after my current work.

For the priority and time: I need to think about it carefully since it is essential to a task management software. But it will then look like other plugins (and make a markdown task appearing even more cumbersome)... Anyway I'll analyze this further.

my idea was that you didn't need to add direct support for priority or time or date. for example time ruler uses

[[ startTime:: HH:MM]]

in the task description as start time. just putting this first and sorting alphabetically works. You could allow a regex to be used to define sorting order if sorting by description. use the regex, take the matching field and sort on that. let other pluging handle the other capabilities and try to support/leave alone their fields.
