If anyone knows what means message #5 and the purpose of the new cell update flag extension (which was introduced with protocol 14) it will be interest. I'm too lazy to research it :)

all we know about it is that its sent only when player is logged in. I use that flag to send the player ID in my server.

ZfsrGhS953: there is nothing to research. Current protocol 15 works pretty well. There is just some new features which appears in the protocol 14 is not clean to understand, but it doesn't affects gameplay.
