Thanks, I completely missed that in the notes because it doesn't really explain anything unless you know what you're looking for. Nor are there any porting guides or examples of how to use this new feature (and other API changes). Yet there are a decade's worth of examples of the old way to do it. Anyway, I didn't write the code I am maintaining. It's a third-party lib with a decade-past AWOL developer. So, I had no idea how he was handling fonts until now. I am not sure why you removed the use of textures. It seems like something that could sit in the lib without harming anything else.
I am closing this issue, as it's not a bug, as you say. I'll follow up on the forums if I can not resolve my issues.
