Please provide more information about your working environment:

uname -n

hostname -f

uname -a

cat /etc/hostname

cat /etc/hosts

Also, any values used for _MY_OWNIP _MY_HOSTN _MY_FRONT

And Barracuda _INSTALLER_VERSION used.

It will help to diagnose the problem.

I deleted my linode (ubuntu 10.04) and tried to reinstall the script and receive this error:

==> EXIT on error due to invalid DNS setup.

• Your server has to have already working FQDN hostname matching your IP address.
  This means you have to configure the dns for your server IP/hostname before
  trying to use this install script. Reverse dns is not required.
• Your hostname appears to be lara.mono.net.tr - are you sure it's a valid FQDN hostname?
• Are you sure your FQDN hostname matches your IP address: 178.79.138.52?

==> EXIT on error due to invalid DNS setup.

My values are:
uname -n: lara.mono.net.tr
hostname -f: lara.mono.net.tr
cat /etc/hostname: lara.mono.net.tr
cat /etc/hosts:

That is strange since I tried it on the vanilla Linode vps and it worked w/o any issues. Can you please try to start with vanilla vps? I mean: don't edit /etc/hosts, don't run any upgrades, don't change the original hostname etc, just run the installer.

It works on the vanilla Linode but it uses bla-bla.members.linode.com. And I don't want to use it. When I set to use with lara.mono.net.tr it gives error. All reverse DNSs are OK. I just commented exit 0 after DNS error, and the script installs without any problem. I just tried this with A12.B. Thank you so much.

The default Linode hostname is not beautiful but it works and you don't need to wait for dns propagation etc, while many hosts gives you just IP with reverse dns (or without). Thanks for sharing success! And try 0.4-HEAD-A12.D
