Couldn't find package redis-server

It's known to be running without any issues on Debian Lenny and redis-server is available there. Have you modified anything on the server before running the script? You can always try to run it again, it will skip everything it already installed and will try to continue.

This was a fresh install from a default Linode Debian 5.0 image.

This sounds like something (network connection?) went wrong at the time of install, since we tested it on Linode a few times and there are many Barracuda users on Linode already.

Possibly could be a network issue. I tried again with both the 64 and 32 bit versions and received the same error.

Running a manual "apt-get update" does not show any errors connecting to any repository:
