Hi @Stene3,

Thanks for reporting. The way rascal currently manages defaults is due for an overhaul and can lead to problems if you don't either:

(a) use Rascal.withDefaultConfig(config), or
(b) specify all the necessary defaults (unfortunately, not well documented).

However, I wasn't able to reproduce the same problems you are facing...

Test Code

Test 1 (string connection attribute)

Test 2 (url connection attribute)

When I tried changing localhost to broker.example.com, in both examples the connection was refused, indicating that the configuration was overriding the defaults as expected.

My advice for the moment is to base off the default configuration via Rascal.withDefaultConfig(config) until I've had a chance to rework things.

I'm going to close this as a (non obvious) duplicate of #78. Still not quite sure what I'm going to do with the default config yet though.
