Selection item limitations

This is an expected behaviour, as you can't select a selected item. And this was specifically designed during one of the first android versions cause a lot of people were complaining on how this widget worked on android (android would send 'onSelected' while rendering widget with a selected item which was causing sending commands when page loaded). If you use it for something like scenarios, I would recommend to set autoupdate=off for corresponding item so that nothing will be ever selected. Then, every time you press an item a command will be sent.

Thank you for your answer(s). I am/was aware of the “sending command on page load” issue. I’ve worked around the problem by simply using a ‘sendUpdate(Item)’ at the end of every rule which is fired from the a drop down box. There’s a dummy value which does nothing and is called “[Select…]” in all the menus now and that dummy value is set on the menu’s Item.

How about the feature request for the “rotation toggle” within the HABDroid app? If you re-orient the device, the page (and/or sitemap) is reloaded, which in my opinion is not necessary. A simple toggle in the configuration menu would be awesome.
