Why should it keep the newby tag over a suicide?

This makes no practical sense and seems more arbitrary. No one playing Meridian (or ever likely to in the future) is new to the land, but there's a distinction made between a new account and a new character and angelled.

This offers no good game play dynamic, nor solves any specific problem. I can only see it causing a perpetual generation of new accounts. Players use mules, as the name implies, to carry stuff. Rather than risk large quantities of items, or items of high value on low hp characters, I foresee players just making a whole round of new mule accounts every two months--and a perpetual need to reroll riija elusion mules to avoid losing sword and other valuable items to the random machinegun chieftain instant kills.

I mean, what's the rationale for this functionality?
