I think its a good idea to bring risk and effort into Token wars. Especially considering how many ppl do have different faction desires. WTG.

As far as I could tell, and seeing from some glob posts, the token game is completely irrelevant. There's no fight for tokens, everyone is happy with having a balance.

If you don't believe there's a fight over tokens then you aren't active in game play.

A lot of the reason there isn't is because most of us get soldier shields, which prevents us from actually altering or participating in the token part of the faction system. So certain people can make it 5 duke without any regards to balance and those who would like to work on a balance have to drop their shield in order to fix it, then re-shield to get the bonuses they had initially.

I like this set up. Being able to fight for a token and fight back to get it in. The current system is kind of crazy .... you gotta either have someone come with you to help protect you, or you just die because you cannot fight back and typically you have no vigor anyway.

As long as you allow for some form of replacement for the old token death, I am all for it.

So here's a relevant story.

We did Nexus today, allowed Lost to get the node provided he leave Roy Le Sage alone on his shield pk.

After Nexus it was clearly stated that we should NOT be returning the tokens. So lost waits a few and then turns in all the tokens. If this change were in, Lost would not be able to grief tokens in this manner and the war for tokens would actually become relevant to people building with shields.

This takes a minor pvp element that is really lacking and really turns it around. Please implement this!

Whole server griefed by a half-Mule, that could be made better with shieldsoldiers who can get attacked and die a real death in game if they do something like this.

Not really for this change to make only soldiers able to pick up tokens. It was always that sodliers of a fraction were supposed to do the flag game to increase the own fractions power and the non soldiers to do the tokens.

Also if you make this change then what about the token death? Its actually THE opportunity for non mules to get the U-Node and with the real death pens u take this opportunity away from them.

The token game is actually supposed to generate some kind of PvP and keep people busy.
