Make a copy

  1. Go to the csvfile dictionary.csv and click on the "Edit" icon (the pen icon at the upper right as shown below)
    edit_icon

  2. When the following window pops up, select "Fork this repository". This action copies and pastes the climatevulnerabilitykhm repository into your Github to allow you make changes.
    fork_this

Now, if you want to directly edit online, follow Edit in place section. Otherwise close the window, and follow Download, edit, and upload again section.

Edit in place

  1. Now, an editable window shows up and you can edit in-place to write the correct variable description. For example, in line 3, the description is changed to "Start time" from "A sentence to explain the variable".
  2. Once you finish editing, click on the green button "Commit changes..."

Download, edit and upload again

  1. Go to the csvfile dictionary.csv, and download the csvfile to your computer (arrow-down icon at the upper right corner).
    dictionary_file

  2. Use your software to add and edit the description column.

    • Do not change other columns!
    • Do not change the file name
    • Save (and be sure it is still dictionary.csv)
  3. Go to data-raw directory in your repository. Click "Add file" at the upper right and select "Upload files"
    upload_file

  4. At the following window, upload the edited file and give a short description about what you changed. For example, here we only changed one variable, so the message is "Change description for EndTm"

  5. Once done, click "Commit changes"

The above-mentioned strategy is not engaging for external collaborators. Close this issue for now to archive
