I have the same systematic crash problems but this only happens with an offline map, here's some details :
iphone 4S ios 9.3.5
OsmAnd 2.0.1 (this has also been happening in all versions for the past year)

1. with offline map.
   After installation, the first run runs :-)
   the application detects the localisation and ask to download the map of the country offline. I validate. The downloading is done without any problems, followed by the downloading of the world map.
   The map is displayed correctly, everything seems to be working.
   I close the application or switch to another application.
   When I return to the application, the logo is displayed and then it crashes.
   every retry crash until I uninstall and reinstall again (and in this case, it work again only once).

2. without offline map
   new installation, the first run works.
   the app detects the location and proposes to download a map offline. I skip.
   proposal to download the world map. I skip.
   The map only contains boundary=2+4 and admin_center limits. even at high zoom there is no other element. (Internet connection by wiki ok)
   In this case, the next run will start again at point 2 (proposal to download an offline map, incomplete map if I pass).
