Model still is working. rosbag play logs/2019-07-16.16-52-29_logs/example_team/example_task/0/vrx_topics.bag
and rostopic echo /gazebo/model_states/pose
shows that the WAM-V model exists and is moving as expected.

Created /home/developer/vrx_ws/src/vrx/vrx_gazebo/models/3d_lidar/mesh/
and made a symbolic link ln -s /home/tylerlum/vrx_ws/src/vrx/vrx_gazebo/models/3d_lidar/mesh/3d_lidar.dae /home/developer/vrx_ws/src/vrx/vrx_gazebo/models/3d_lidar/mesh/3d_lidar.dae
for all. Resulted in errors going away and WAM-V visuals coming back.
Proper solution: PR to gazebo to not use absolute path

to $USER
, which for me is tylerlum
, which should fix it.

Current solution: Ensure that all users of vrx-docker first follow the VRX System Setup Tutorial sections Install all prerequisites in your host system and Option 2: Build VRX from source.
Make sure it is sourced so that you can run launch files from vrx_gazebo
. Make sure that your file structure is /home/<username>/vrx_ws
, as this will assure reliable functionality.

This issue was made obsolete with PR #31, which eliminates the need to call playback.launch directly, and also the requirement to run it on the host. Instead, the reply_trial.bash
script now calls the play_vrx_log.sh
within the container, which calls playback.launch inside the container.
