I found that using the Google V3 API caused problems with the click and drag if a zoom happens next.

The problem was fixed by adding the leftX and topY back to the roundedPoint coordinates.

I didnt understand too...
My solution was move the "canvas area" and load it again.
Here you can see what I've been trying.

Your solution looks a lot more robust... and like it might solve a few other bugs I was noticing! I'll try it out tonight and let you know how it goes. Thanks!

I forgot to say I created 2 new methods in heatmap.js (show and hide), they only do is change the visibility of the canvas div.
