@pa7 Did you ever write that blog post about how to aggregate data?
from heatmap.js.
@oliverland I'm the founder of maptimize, a clustering service. I'm about to launch a new version where you can have a heatmap visualisation. It's not @pa7 heatmap code (even if I think you could use it).
It's not launched officially yet but if you are interested send me a message on github.
I'm sorry, I really dont like to talk about commercial product on open-source project. I do a lot of open-source too. But if it can help @oliverland.
Thanks

Sorry for the late response.
There were some major performance improvements lately: 1k datapoints now takes about 60ms to render.
But if you're having 50k datapoints you should think about whether all of them are really required for a significant visualization. In most cases aggregating data before passing it to the heatmap visualization makes sense.
Let me know if it works for you now.

Hi @pa7, great heatmap library there!
Do you have any recommendation on what sort of aggregation method to look at in reducing the size of the data?

hey @tmlee ! thank you, a blog post series about data aggregation techniques for heatmaps will be released soon, I will post the links here as soon as they are released!

@pa7 that would be great thanks. I have posted something about legends. can
you please have a look at that?
